I asked Mrs. Awesome a few weeks ago if we could take a few moments to stop; breathe; and give thanks for what we have and what we have experienced this past year. She said okay.
Little Awesome decided that every time we wanted to review, he wanted to explain the virtues of what was currently happening on his new favorite television show. Needless to say we haven’t really gotten around to how great this past year has gone.
Currently, I just finished cleaning the kitchen while listening to 80’s new wave on the bluetooth speaker. Mrs. Awesome is playing puzzles and legos simultaneously down the hall in L.A.’s Command Center. I had to celebrate getting a MASSIVE oil stain out of Little Awesome’s Captain America jacket. Stop the Presses! I DID SOMETHING!
Seriously, it was pretty amazing. Thank God for washing soda and Fels Naptha soap.
It’s February 3, 2018 and I’ve been reviewing my goals for the year. So far, and started (and re-started) several of those. I’m finding that the more I talk about my goals, the better off I feel.
It’s a beautiful Saturday morning here in Pensacola, FL. I mean postcard pretty. I intend to add some photos to this post a little later on today as one of my goals this year is:
- Spend more time outside.
I don’t spend a lot of the time at the beach, getting sand everywhere on your body is not really my favorite thing. But Harbor Freight has a free moving blanket coupon in the new mail-out and doggone it, those make fantastic beach towels. I also bought some hammocks from Bear Butt, and they are awesome.
However, one of my other goals is to write a blog post once a week, and now I’m afraid that I’m a month behind. So, this post needed to happen friends…
Here are my goals in no particular order with limited to no explanation:
- Finish building and planting my garden bed by the end of February
- Cook one new recipe a week (So far, doing pretty good with this one)
- Pay off one Credit Card this year (If all goes well, we’ll pay off two)
This one is a hard one for me, as I want to pay them all off tomorrow. However, this though process is a) insanely unrealistic – and b) L.A. sometimes gets sick when we don’t have an emergency fund. Alas, earwax.
- De-clutter the house
- Lose some serious weight
- Date my wife this year. Free baby-sitters are in short supply, but we are going to try dog-gone it.
- I have some online classes I’ve been meaning to take – I’m been sitting on them, and I really just need to do it.
